Dhal is an Indian lentil soup. I read about something like it but with rice here a long time ago and have enjoyed the version of it at our favorite Indian place in town. Then I found this recipe at epicurious and decided it was gaps friendly. It ended up being really satisfying and yummy. Plus, it's easy enough that I can make it without using a recipe now that I've done it a few times. The pictured version subs regular lentils for the reds in the recipe. I've done it both ways and I like it better with reds but I have greens in my food storage and it's still yummy that way. It's currently in our regular soup rotation since both kids love lentils. Love them.
