Red Enchilada Sauce

4 TB flour
¼ cup cooking oil
2 TB chili powder
2 tsp cumin
1 tsp salt
2 cloves garlic, crushed
2 cups hot water
2/3 cups tomato sauce

Brown the flour in a large frying pan. Add the spices, then the oil. Heat and stir to avoid lumps. When smooth, slowly add the water and tomato sauce, stirring all the time. When all is smooth, simmer until thick. Add your own hot peppers to your taste. Note: this is soooo much cheaper when you make it from scratch!
