5 Grain Hot Cereal

1/2 cup of 5 grain mix (wheat, rye, milled, hulled barley, oat groats)
1/8 tsp salt
3 cups water
3 TB sugar

Roll the grains in a Marga Roller Mill on the coarsest setting. Bring water and salt to a boil. Uncover and reduce heat to lowest possible setting. Stir in rolled cereal. When boiling has slowed to a simmer, cover and simmer 40 minutes. Stir in sugar. Notes: these grains last for many years in a cool, dry environment. You could buy a little of each to try this out. If you like it, you could buy them in 50 lb bags. Thanks CJ!
